Ipsophène is an innovative industrial company, founded in 2021, with a clear mission: to produce the active ingredient of paracetamol in a sovereign way in France and contribute to the country’s health independence.
Based in Toulouse, France, we are implementing a
continuous manufacturing process that is revolutionizing the pharmaceutical fine chemicals industry. This process, designed by the IPSOMEDIC team and its founder Edith Lecomte-Norrant, considerably reduces production time and waste, while ensuring excellent quality.
Our commitment goes beyond the simple production of active ingredients. We are resolutely focused on sustainable innovation, using local raw materials and cutting-edge technologies to offer a product that is both competitive and respectful of the environment.
Thanks to our unique process, we are able to produce the active ingredient in paracetamol more efficiently, reducing operating costs and minimizing our environmental footprint.
Since our creation, we have benefited from the support of strategic and financial partners, notably the Occitanie Region and France 2030.
This support enabled us to take over a pharmaceutical plant that was no longer operational on the Campus Santé du Futur in Toulouse, where we are now setting up our plant.
We plan to start production in the first half of 2025.
Ultimately, our aim is to meet the equivalent of half of France’s demand for paracetamol by 2026. Our active ingredient will be sold throughout Europe.
Our project is not limited to paracetamol production. It’s part of a broader vision to reindustrialize France, creating local jobs and contributing to the country’s health sovereignty.
